It is all about fit.
Benjamin David Novak invests in early stage technology companies located on the East Coast of the United States. Ben is also a member, and serves on the Screening Committee, of an angel group that invests in early stage technology and life sciences companies located in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. The group generally invests a few hundred thousand dollars into a $500,000 to $3,000,000 seed financing, though the group has written smaller and larger checks on occasion. Preferred Stock equity deals are given preference, though convertible debt deals will be considered. Common Stock and SAFE deals will not be considered. Companies can be early, but they should have a team assembled, at least one product launched, and a significant amount of traction. The type and amount of traction depend on the business model. Revenue is not required but is a great indicator of market traction. Companies are expected to be organized as Delaware C corporations, though, for clarity, they do not need to have any operations in Delaware.
